Master thesis

Before starting work on your master thesis, you need to have the paper work in order. Read about master thesis contracts and what happens if you do not hand in your master thesis on time.

Get your master thesis contract approved

Before writing your master thesis, you must have your master thesis contract drawn up and approved by the Head of Studies.

In order to get the approval, fill in the relevant form below and upload it to Moodle. The instructions are on the form.

If you need help or advice regarding the rules for the master thesis, please contact your study board secretary.

Do you chose not to hand in your master thesis?

If you chose not to hand in your master thesis on time, you have 14 days (two weeks starting from the original deadline) to make a revised master thesis contract with your supervisor.

Then you send your revised thesis contract to your study secretary.

A new deadline within three months will be determined - July does not count as part of these three months.

Not handing in your master thesis on time counts as an exam attempt. You have three attempts in all.

Are you sick for a longer period?

If you get sick for a prolonged time during your master thesis semester, you can apply for exemption to get your deadline postponed.

If possible, the study board need your application no later than 4 weeks before your original deadline.

Get more information on Moodle

You will find further information about the semester in Moodle at the beginning of the spring semester and you always have the opportunity to contact the semester coordinator and study secretary for guidance about the semester.

Doing a project with a business?

If you are collaborating with an external organisation, you might need additional contracts with them.
